The Revenge Continues

OK. So there was absolutely no way that we were going to let Kelli get away with her amazing prank without returning the favor. One night at supper I was telling some of the people at my table all about this whole thing, and as it turned out, Jolie, and one of her roommates are also continually doing pranks on each other and had some good suggestions for us.

One of the ideas was to saran wrap their bed. So I rallied Callie and Hannah together and we all stayed up late one night after Kelli went to bed and saran wrapped around the outside of her bunk bed. She has the bottom bunk, so we just wrapped it around the frame while she was sleeping. It was a very delicate process since Kelli is a light sleeper, and our floors squeak terribly. We managed to do it all without waking her up all the way. It ended up not being very much fun because she apparently woke up around 1 and ripped it down. She had decided not to react to anything so that we wouldn't come up with any other pranks. It was rather boring.

But our next prank was anything but boring! I was thinking about it and decided that Dan needed to have his share of our revenge because of his part in it all. Hannah flatly refused to take part in saran wrapping the dean of students office, but Callie and I were determined that he and Sue needed to pay for their part in Kelli's revenge. I talked with someone who works in the deans department who would be able to tell us whether or not it was a good idea, and they said absolutely! (The innocent will be protected by remaining unnamed). We waited until Sunday night when no one would be around, and got in using an unnamed person's key (Sue is still dying to know whose key it was) and we did Dan's office first. We wrapped his chair, computer monitor, name plate, random books, his phone receiver, the three other chairs in his office, a mug with dumdums, and possibly a few other random things. Then we moved on to Sue's desk (she's the receptionist in the deans department) and did her chair, phone, computer monitor, and other random items as well. Then we left a note written in funky handwriting that said "You have been struck by the saran wrap bandits" and signed it with a S.B. thingy. So, Hannah, Beth, and the person whose key we borrowed were the only other people who knew anything about the whole thing.

The next morning finally came, and I wisely avoided the crowd around the deans department door on my way to class. I was walking with Kelli, and as we were going along, Kristin joined us and immediately accused Kelli of doing it and told her that she needed to apologize to Sue for saran wrapping her office. I just innocently kept walking pretending to be as confused as Kelli really was, but Kelli spoiled it by saying that she had nothing to do with it, but she wouldn't answer for the rest of her dorm. Kristin turned to me and I just smirked at her hoping that maybe the guilty look would throw her off. It didn't work. So we got into the classroom, and I went and sat in my seat, and was talking to Ayn the girl I sit next to every day, and then Dan walked in. It wasn't until that moment that I remembered that my first class of the day was with him as the teacher. Oops. Immediately he asked Kelli how her "weekend" was putting the emphasis on weekend. I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation, but moments later he hollered to the back of the room where I sit, and asked me how my weekend was. It kinda threw me off, so I just said that it was busy, but good... and then spent the next hour kicking myself for not returning the question =). After that hour was over I went down Sue's office, and met Callie outside the door, then we went in together and got the grill about it all. We didn't try to hide the fact that it was us, we just answered all their questions except for the one about how we got in =). Sue has said multiple times that it was a fun prank because we didn't harm anything or anyone, and it was "just so funny!"

Dan on the other hand... two weeks have gone by since then, and this last week I had the flu and then allergies as well. I ended up missing several classes two of which were Dan's 8:00 class. He likes to give pop quizzes, but he generously saved it until the day I came back to class. He told us when we walked in that there was going to be a quiz, so we had about 5 minutes to study for it, plus I had kind of been expecting one. So when he started handing out the quizzes, and he got back to where I was sitting, I asked him if I failed it if I could retake it later or something because I'd missed the last two days of class. He had his microphone on already, so when he replied he said right into the microphone "You are the last person in the world that I would be gracious to, Anna. You are one of the boldest students in NTBI." I knew he was joking, but he has the ability to say something like that while sounding completely serious. So the rest of the class about had a heart attack! Afterwards I had all these people who hadn't known about the saran wrapping asking me why Dan was so upset with me. He had a good laugh when I told him that.

The funniest thing to me is that everyone is so horrifed that we did this to the "DEAN OF STUDENTS?!?!?" because to me Dan is so UNintimidating, and he also is one of the few guys here who could take a joke like that, and handle it well. A lot of the other staff guys here would not see any humor in something like that, but Dan is a total practical joker, so I felt safe doing it to him.
