One of the girls here Emily, told us this TRUE story the other day.
Emily had a friend who was getting married. This friend, whose name I don't know, will be called Megan. So "Megan" was getting married, and she decided that she wanted a verse on her wedding cake. Being unfamiliar with the Bible, she asked Emily for some suggestions. Emily suggested several different verses and Megan decided on 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." As the time for the wedding drew closer, Megan was under a lot of stress, and her schedule was way too full. So her husband-to-be asked if he could do anything to help. After spending some time thinking about what he could do that he couldn't mess up on, Megan asked him to order the cake. She wrote out careful instructions with all the information he could possibly need, and gave it to him. On the day he went to order the cake, he got into the shop, and realized he had forgotten the card. However, he was sure he could remember it all. So he placed his order, remembering everything except the verse. All he could remember was the reference. The person taking his order agreed to look the verse up for him. So he gave him the reference, which was John 4:18. After he got home he realized that the card said 1 John, but being unfamiliar with the Bible he figured it was the same thing and left it as it was. The day of the wedding arrived, and everything went well, until they arrived at the reception hall to see their beautiful cake that was absolutely perfect with John 4:18 written on it. John 4:18 says, "For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that thou saidst truly."

EEK!!!!
So Kristin, make absolutely sure if you want a verse on your cake that you get the right reference! =)
Oh my goodness!!! IS that really true?! OH MY! I have a funny one to tell you about the wrong Scripture. Yesterday I sent an email to my sister Amy because her family has been going through some really hard times. I told her that in church we read from Romans 3 and it reminded me of Dave (her husband) and that it would bring him some comfort and peace to read it. I got home and thought that something didn't sound right about that. I opened my Bible and the first two lines of Romans 3 is about Jews and Circumcision!!!!! I meant Romans 5:3, but I got it mixed up and just said chapter 3!!!! There was nothing comforting about that chapter! :)
