Oops. It's been a while...

Goodness. It's been so long since I put anything on here that I don't even know what to say! Um... school's going great, we had a ton of homework this last week, but we won't have that much for a while again. I'm still looking for a a job, but I'm going in to talk to the hiring manager at little ceasers today. Um... I'm at a loss for once in my life! Well, then I will just have to make something up. Oh wait. I just thought of a couple of goofy stories.

A while ago, actually quite a while ago now, I ran out of windshield washer fluid. So I stopped at the auto zone in Allegan (I was on my way back to the school), popped in, grabbed a jug of it, paid, and went back out to my car. As I was popping the hood I realized that the jug was leaking everywhere. Well, I wasn't going to stand for that, so I took it back in, and got it exchanged. I went back outside, opened up my hood, and as I started pouring the stuff in, I realized that there was a whole group of snowmobilers, plus a few other guys out there as well. So there I was the only girl with a group of about ten or twelve guys, which I suddenly realized were all looking at me kind of funny... like they wanted to come make sure I wasn't putting the windshield washer fluid into the oil or something equally dumb! Of course none of them could know that I practically grew up with my head under the hood of a car (K, maybe not quite, but it sounded good =P). At first I was just kind of amused at all of this, and then I realized I could really have some fun at the guys expense! I had the sudden urge to stop pouring the stuff in, say "Oh no!" in a really horrified voice, and then burst into hysterical tears, to see what all these rough and tough snowmobiling guys would do =). You can relax, I didn't do it. But I did think it would have been fun. Then as I was picturing their reactions I had to resist the urge to burst into hysterical laughter. But I managed to restrain that as well. I still think it would have been pretty funny though.

I help out with an awana club at a church in this area, and I always ride with the couple who runs our library, the Henise's, and another girl, Sarah. After we were done there the Henise's wanted to stop at Walmart to pick some stuff up, so I decided that while we were there I would pick up the vitamins that I needed. So Sarah and I were looking at the vitamins for the ones I wanted, and we were starting to get really frustrated because we couldn't find one of them. Finally Sarah said, "I really wish they had these organized better. It would be so much easier if they were all organized chronologically." It took us about a split second pause before we both realized what she had said, looked at each other and started laughing (we were both a little hyper I guess =P). Then she tried to correct her statement and couldn't remember the word she was looking for. Of course we started laughing harder, and by this time we were starting to get some funny looks from passing customers, which only made us laugh even harder. I finally managed to gasp out, "You mean alphabetically?" After we finally managed to settle down, and get ourselves under control, we decided that it must be a sign that she's been in Bible school too long.

Well, I should probably go to little ceasers now, and see if I can't get m'self a job! The economy in Jackson is so bad, that even McDonald's won't hire without a couple years experience! So hopefully I'll be one of the fortunate ones. I'll try to be a little more regular in my posting from now on, but I won't make any promises =).

Good luck in finding the right job that God has in mind for you! I'll keep you in my prayers.

My new Tribes friends went back to Papua New Guinea in January. It was fifteen degrees when they left here, and one hundred fifteen when they got there! But they adjusted pretty quickly anyway. They have the written language now and are doing bible teaching - the whole village but 3 turn up for the 3 days a week teaching. Its exciting just hearing about it, so it must be beyond awesome to be there watching firsthand, the Lord at work!

Keep the postings coming! I admit I don't check often enough, but part of that is lack of time, and also partly due to there being nothing new when I do look!

Work hard at school!

That's really cool! I love hearing about the places where they're into the teaching and the people are responding. I'm excited that I'll (hopefully) someday get to be a part of that!

I'll try to do a better job of making sure that there's something new when you check up on me =).
