Is anybody sick of hearing about malaria yet??

Well if you are I have good news for you! I'm done with most of my malaria meds, and they have finally determined that the variety of malaria that I have is the kind that goes dormant and shouldn't bother me again! Isn't that cool?!?!?!

The bad news is that they tested my potassium and it's really low, and one of my doctors actually wants me hospitalized, so that I can be on an IV! Fortunately Dr. Drozdowski doesn't think that's necessary, so I'm on potassium supplements as well as living on bananas and potatoes : ). I don't mind the bananas and potatoes, but the pills are absolutely ginormous! (giant and enormous put together... I love that word!). So you can be praying for me that I don't get sick of bananas and potatoes too quickly.

On the fun side of life, I'm having a slumber party with Abby!!! She's house sitting for one of her co-workers, and so I'm going to join her Friday night. We'll lounge around in the hot tub, watch movies, stay up all night, generally just what girls do at slumber parties : ).

Hmm, I think it might be time to go get dressed : ). It's only nine-thirty, but I was hoping to dig up a lunch date for today, and I need to make a phone call first : P. So, top of the morning to you!

Anna

I'll bet you're more sick of malaria talk than I am! Glad to hear you're about done with it. Is the low potassium due to malaria or meds? If its malaria, then I'd say that it was surely God's plan to have bananas growing wild all over the place where malaria thrives!

Take care of yourself! Love ya!

I'm so glad you're getting better! A banana sounds really good right now. It might have to do with the beautiful weather outside! Hmm, mashed potatoes, french fries, baked potatoes, potoato chips...I'm already out of ideas. I didn't even know potatoes had lots of potassium. :P

mmmmmm....
Scalloped potatoes, cheesy potato casserole, hash browns, cottage fries, potato soup, mashed redskins with sour cream. Can you tell potatoes are one of my favorite foods? I'm afraid I will never be diagnosed with a potassium defficiency. More's the pity - doctor's are more likely to tell me to lay off the potatoes than to eat more. (sigh!)

I'm glad to hear your feeling a bit more like your old self.

AAAACK!! One of my pet peeves is when people spell "you're" as "your". I just did it in my previous post! Horrors!!

I love potatoes too! I just haven't been eating very many lately...until now :). Except we're just about out now :(.

When I first started taking my medications they were making me feel very nauseated, and I guess when you throw up you lose your potassium, so they're hoping that's why I'm so low.

Terry... I completely understand the "your/you're" pet peeve! But I must admit I didn't notice it when I read it the first time :P.
