Wednesday

I'm feeling a lot better now.
Yesterday Angie, and I were supposed to go down to Mibu, but since I was still sick, and her toe hurt we ended up not going. My pidgin teacher came all the way up here anyway. I felt kind of bad, but I still didn't feel good enough to study. Plus, I don't think she needs to be getting sick this close to her due date. She's in kind of a bad situation. She is the second wife of her husband... as in they're both still with him. He was divorced from his first wife, but then they ended up getting back together. With two of them, the first one gets all the attention and the second, Nancy, gets ignored. So Nancy left and went back to her family, then found out she was expecting his baby. So now she's with him again, but it's still not a happy situation. Fortunately for her, being a "language teacher" gives her kind of a more respected position, so hopefully that will help her. She is really excited about teaching me, and that's why she walked all the way up here on Monday, when she didn't need too. She is supposed to be coming up tomorrow, so I'll get some more studying in. It will be really helpful. Even an hour away from the village, I still get plenty of contact with the people!
Well, I should go. I'm eating banana bread with peanut butter and chocolate chips on it, while typing with one hand. Slightly difficult!

Hey Annabanana,

it's one of the "Indiana Hillbillies" from the sophisticated south. =)

Sounds like you're having a great time. Now you have a little bit of an idea of what I went through when we were in Haiti. Being a missionary can be so much fun though!

I'll be praying for you!

Wow, what a hard situation to be in. Is Nancy a believer? I'll pray for her.

I sure hope you're better by now! I can't believe how fast this month is going by! It's almost Christmas! You'll have to post if/how they celebrate it out there!
